Hull duo set the pace

Leading Hull clubs Skirlaugh and Myton Warriors have led the way in this year’s RFL Community Game Raffle.
The duo sold an amazing 6,590 tickets between them for the fund raising initiative and their efforts were rewarded when they were named first and second in the “biggest selling club” category.
Skirlaugh – with 3,589 tickets – were the best selling club in the country and the huge efforts were rewarded with a great selection of prizes that included £1,500 worth of kit and equipment, a training session with the England coaching staff and a six-seater hospitality box for the 2012 Super League Grand Final.
As well as the prizes the club’s efforts saw them raise a huge £2,512 for the club coffers, with the remaining money going to the Rugby League Foundation in the joint fund raising initiative.
After winning the crown last year Myton Warriors were just edged out into second place by the town rivals with a total of 3,001 ticket sales.
However, they too were rewarded with some great prizes and will be boosted by a £2,000 cash injection.
“Both clubs have been absolutely outstanding in their selling for this year’s raffle,” said the RFL’s Richard Donlon.
“They both really deserve their prizes and I’m sure that they’ll both be gearing up for another big push in next year’s raffle.
“The entire city of Hull has really bought into the raffle this year with almost 8,500 tickets been bought so I’d like to thank everyone who took part.”
