England and France clash in Wheelchair International

England and France clash in the Rapid Support Services Wheelchair Rugby League International which takes place at Leigh Sports Village this Saturday October 8, with a 1.30pm start.
Wheelchair Rugby League Grand Final winners Bury Jigsaw provide four of England’s squad, with fellow finalists Halifax adding a further three players, together with one from Wolverhampton Rhinos and two debutants from Mersey Vikings.
The England team will begin their preparations for the match when they go into training camp on Tuesday.
England Wheelchair Rugby League Head Coach Phil Roberts said: “The RFL has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to prepare the squad in a performance environment. We have brought together a strong, fast and well-balanced team.
“In addition to some old heads, last year’s debutants retain their places and two further players make their debut this year. Our domestic game continues to grow in size and strength and we must make sure that this is shown in our performance next week.
“Ultimately this game is another stage of the journey to the 2013 World Cup.”
Andrew Crompton, Managing Director of Rapid Support Services said: “As a local business, we’re proud to support this event and we are sure it will be an exciting match.
“We do have an additional interest in the game, as the employers of the England captain.”
Rapid Support Services were founded in 1994 and provides restoration and repair services to the insurance industry.
This will be the first time an international Wheelchair Rugby League game has been played in the North West of England and spectators are invited to attend to support the national side.
