The RFL in partnership with St Helens RLFC are running an Indoor Touch Rugby League at Thatto Heath Training barn in St Helens which will start on Monday October 10 and run for ten weeks between 8pm and 10pm.

The Saints Summer Touch Rugby League attracted over 100 participants from 10 teams and also the recent Ian Bell Memorial Touch competition attracted 11 teams competing on one day for the inaugural Ian bell memorial Touch competition.

It is now planned to make this competition an annual event. Following the success Touch Rugby League has had in the area this year it was important to ensure that there were still opportunities to play through the winter.

Squads can be made up of a maximum of 10 players. The games will be 5 a side with unlimited substitutions made. Each team will play 2 x 20 minute games per week.
The cost for entry is £30 per week per team which equates to £3 per person.

Touch Rugby League is a simple yet exciting game which promotes the fundamental skills of running, handling and support play, whilst developing the basic principles of attack and defence.

The game involves minimal contact and is all about playing the game on the field and also the social atmosphere afterwards.

Each team will enjoy themed weeks and events, administration for the league including fixtures, leagues and team packs, two 20 minute games per week and qualified referees in charge of all matches.
