Official RFL Statement re Crusaders

Following recent meetings between the RFL and Crusaders RL, the RFL has issued the following statement.
The RFL met with Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris, which was one in a series of meetings we have had with members of the Crusaders over the past seven days.
Nigel Wood, RFL’s Chief Executive, said:
“The RFL has been working with the club and its employees to find the best solution, on a case-by-case basis, to the various issues raised following the club’s withdrawal from Super League and discussions with Iestyn have assisted the progress we are making.
“Whilst it is formally the obligation of the employer to resolve the issues, it goes without saying that the RFL will do whatever it can, reasonably and practically, to provide assistance to those people directly affected, in order to reach an agreeable conclusion.
“Although the full proposals will take some time longer to construct, we are hopeful that an outcome can be reached that is acceptable to all.”
Iestyn Harris, Crusaders RL Coach, added:
“I have now had the chance to meet with the RFL to discuss the Crusaders decision to withdraw from the Super League. The meeting was very positive and while not all the issues could be addressed, I am confident that we will reach a satisfactory conclusion in due course.”
