Rob Purdham Testimonial day success
On Saturday, 9th July 2011 Rob Purdham celebrated his Testimonial at the Twickenham Stoop during the Harlequins RL and London Skolars double header.
The match day was dedicated to Rob’s Testimonial with a number of fundraising events taking place throughout the day to recognise Rob’s 10 years of playing rugby league in London.
The official Testimonial rugby league shirt and t-shirts were available for the first time and fans from all four clubs (Harlequins RL, Wigan Warriors, London Skolars and Oldham) all supported Rob’s Testimonial and chosen charities and gave generously for merchandise, memorabilia and donating to Rob’s four charities; Cancer Research UK, Help a Capital Child, Try Assist (RFL Benevolent Fund) and Cumbria Community Foundation.
Rob Purdham said: “I cannot express my appreciation enough to all the fans coming out to support the testimonial today from all four teams. I’d like to thank everyone that gave generously towards the testimonial, either by buying shirts or donating to charities.
Rob concluded: “This is one of a number of events we have planned, there’s still more to come so check the website.”
The day concluded with the Wigan Warriors first team making a donation to the Testimonial fund and presenting Rob with a signed shirt and gift from the Wigan squad.
