Engage Mutual on board for rowing challenge

Staff members from Super League title sponsor Engage Mutual have thrown their support behind Thursday's ‘Rugby League Rowing Challenge’

Staff members from Super League title sponsor Engage Mutual have thrown their support behind Thursday's ‘Rugby League Rowing Challenge’ in aid of the Try Assist charity.

The financial services provider have 15 rowers taking part who make up three staff teams which are aptly named the Engage Sharks, Engage Vikings and, the ladies team, the Engage Dragons.

The fund raising challenge, organised by Try Assist, is to row 26 miles on an Indoor Concept2 rowing machine and takes place on Thursday 21st July at The Zone in Huddersfield.  The marathon distance can be completed individually or in a relay in teams of up to five.

Steve Barry, Engage Mutual’s Operations Director is taking part and commented “There has been a lot of talk in the office about training regimes and tactics on the day.  With three teams involved there has also been some staff banter regarding who will finish first and last.  The pressure is on.”

Try Assist, formally known as the Rugby League Benevolent Fund, supports players whose lives are affected by serious injuries sustained while playing the game.
