Chase ban reduced

Castleford stand-off Rangi Chase was today cleared to help the Tigers in their bid to reach their first Carnegie Challenge Cup final for 19 years.
The New Zealander has had his two-game ban, imposed for punching during his side’s 34-30 Engage Super League win over Bradford Bulls on Sunday, halved on appeal by the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary panel.
It means Chase will lose his ever-present record this season when Castleford go to Crusaders RL for a league game on Saturday but he is free to play in their cup quarter-final against Huddersfield Giants on Sunday week.
