Hero on last stretch home
Keep on Running, Steve Prescott’s Engage Mutual Challenge: 28 September – 2 October
Steve Prescott’s ultra marathon challenge began on Tuesday at the Hull KC Stadium. Facing him was a 104 mile run from East Yorkshire, across the Pennines and into Lancashire.
After suffering a setback on the second day which meant he had to withdraw from part of the run to Leeds, his characteristic grit and determination meant he was back in the run by the end of that day.
Having successfully completed the third day, Steve is now on his final leg, a gruelling stretch that ends at Sir Matt Busby Way at Old Trafford.
Along the way he has seen great support from across rugby league. Joining him for stretches of the run, have been ex Wigan and GB full back Steve Hampson, referee Ben Thaler, and today Sky pundit and Try Assist Trustee, Phil Clarke. And much thanks to the KC Stadium for a great send off, and to Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors for the expert physiotherapy rub downs which have helped keep Steve running.
