Kazandjian Takes Up New Role

Following exhaustive interviews, with high quality candidates applying from across the world, including New Zealand, Australia, all parts of Europe and the West Indies, Danny Kazandjian has been appointed to the post of Rugby League European Federation Executive Officer.
Initially a stalwart behind the formation of the sport in Lebanon, he has led the successful development drive in the Mediterranean and Middle East regions recently.
"I am delighted to be taking up this position with the RLEF at such an exciting time in the sport’s history,” he said of his new responsibilities.
“There is an abundance of good work being done on the European Continent and beyond, with more nations, more participants and more cultures playing the sport than ever before, and I look forward immensely to working with such committed people and organizations as we extend rugby league’s boundaries together.”
"It would also be remiss of me not to pay tribute to Kevin Rudd’s period at the helm of the RLEF,” he continued. “Kevin was a tireless servant to rugby league whose selfless leadership was greatly admired by all those who worked with him."
RLEF Chairman, Richard Lewis, said, “I would like to congratulate Danny on his new role as the Federation’s Executive Officer.”
.
“He has been the Director of Development in the Euro-Med region since 2007 which has shown a significant increase in participation and he will now oversee all operations and activity.
“His experience will prove invaluable as we prepare for this year’s European competitions which climax with the European Championship in France in the autumn.
“This position will also be pivotal in the longer term as we prepare for the Rugby League World Cup in the United Kingdom in 2013.”
