The Co-operative Championship match, Featherstone Rovers v Keighley Cougars scheduled for Sunday May 16 will now be played this Thursday, April 22 and will be shown live on Sky Sport 3 from 7.30pm.

Keighley have agreed to move the fixture forward after Featherstone’s original opponents, Toulouse Olympique, were informed their flight to the UK had been cancelled due to the continuing air traffic problems caused by atmospheric volcanic ash.

“The RFL would like to extend its appreciation to Keighley Cougars for their co-operation in moving their fixture at such short notice,” said the RFL’s Operations Director Emma Rosewarne.

“As part of our contingency plan, we asked Keighley earlier this week if they would be willing to step in should Toulouse not be able to travel and when news of the flight cancellation arrived this morning the Cougars kindly agreed to play on Thursday.”

Toulouse Olympique only returned to France yesterday after travelling to the UK by coach last Saturday for their Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round tie at St Helens.
