The Co-operative Championship and Championship One Fixtures
Champions Barrow Raiders will kick off the 2010 Co-operative Championship season at Leigh Sporting Village against Leigh Centurions live on Sky Sports on Thursday February 25.
The first round of Championship fixtures also sees Toulouse Olympique XIII host Dewsbury Rams on Saturday February 27 and Sheffield Eagles travelling to Halifax a day later with a further two games also scheduled for that Sunday.
Meanwhile, the 11-team Co-operative Championship One gets underway on the same weekend as the Championship with a full round of five matches which include South Wales RLFC making their debut at Neath against Workington Town and relegated Gateshead Thunder travelling to Hunslet Hawks.
This year’s Co-operative Championship One has a wide geographical spread with teams based in London, South Wales, Cumbria and the North East alongside clubs from the games heartland.
The 2009 Co-operative Championship competition was the most exciting and competitive competition in memory and the Thursday night televised fixtures on Sky Sports made for compulsive viewing.
Sky Sports will again be screening Co-operative Championship games on Thursday nights in 2010 season with Batley v Halifax next up on Thursday March 11 followed by Widnes v Halifax in Round 3.
In their initial selections which go up to Thursday June 24, Sky Sports will televise two matches from The Co-operative Championship One on June 10 and June 24.
The Championship season will climax with the triple-header Co-operative Finals day at Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington, on Sunday September 26.
Both finalists in The Co-operative Championship Grand Final will also be eligible to apply for the next round of engage Super League licences for the 2012-2014 seasons
