The RFL’s Head of Coach Development, Vinny Webb won the Coach Educator of the Year award at the prestigious UK Coaching Awards dinner in London on Tuesday night.

The Coach Educator of the Year is deemed to be the individual who has made a significant contribution to the development of coaching of individual coaches in the UK through delivery of effective education programmes.

“It’s a great honour to win the prestigious Coach Educator of the Year award,” said Webb. “Winning this is fantastic recognition for the RFL Performance and Coaching team’s hard work.”

Webb beat off stiff competition from Nevil Jeffrey (Rugby Union) and Karen King (Rounders) to clinch the award.

The RFL were also short-listed in the Coaching Intervention of the Year category for the part it plays within the Pentagon Group.

The UK Coaching Awards dinner which took place at Old Billinsgate in London was a celebration of coaching excellence across all levels of sport in the United Kingdom. Previous winners include Alf Ramsey, Bobby Robson, Alex Ferguson and Clive Woodward.
