Keighley Cougars club staff has been virtually overwhelmed by the fans’ response to the team’s progress to the Co-operative Championship One Grand Final at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium on Sunday, October 4.

The Cougar Park phones have been almost red hot as fans checked out travel and ticket details for the big match.

The Cougars secured their place in the Grand Final at the first attempt when they beat York City Knights 32-18 in the Qualifying Semi-final at Cougar Park on Sunday.

Helen Carter, the Cougars’ General Manager, said: “It’s been amazing. Ever since we knew that we’d made the Final on Sunday the atmosphere at the club has been fantastic.

“We’ve had loads of phone calls throughout the day from fans wanting tickets and details of our coach travel package.

“There have also been loads of people ringing up to congratulate us on making the Final.

“It’s something we’ve been working for all year and it’s a major achievement for the club.

“As a bonus it’ll also help lift the awareness of the club in the town and boost our Community programmes too”.

Helen added: “We’ll be announcing the details of when fans can buy tickets and book their places on the coaches for Warrington later on Monday.

“We’re planning to keep the Cougar Park office open later on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and, if necessary, Saturday.”
