St Helens College added the Carnegie National 9’s title to that of the North West which they won a week earlier after overcoming Hull College at a rain soaked West Park RFC.

Despite being beaten by the men from East Yorkshire in the group stage Saints powered into an early lead in the final and despite a gallant fight back from Hull managed to hold on to lift the trophy.

Wakefield College, Wigan & Leigh and Pendleton all impressed during the afternoon and will be confident going into next weeks league fixtures.
