Rochdale claimed their second high-profile scalp in four days in National League Two after beating Doncaster 50-8 at Spotland.

The Lancashire side had already beaten second-placed Barrow on Sunday and picked up just where they had left off.

Doncaster were first to get the scoreboard ticking over, Kyle Briggs scoring an early goal but Rochdale soon took control.

Eric Andrews and Chris Giles both scored within nine minutes of each other, Carl Sneyd adding three goals to make it 14-2.

And they extended their lead with tries either side of the break, scored by Wayne Corcoran and Janan Billings - both of which Sneyd converted.

Doncaster briefly halted Rochdale's momentum with Wayne Reittie scoring, but Hornets were not to be denied.

Sneyd nudged them further ahead with another goal before Danny Butterworth's 64th-minute try virtually made sure of the win.

There was still time for Rochdale to score three more, Martin Ainscough going over twice and Sneyd adding another in the final 10 minutes.
