Becoming A Match Official

Match Officials

Are you thinking of hanging up your boots but want to stay involved in Rugby League?

Or maybe you’re involved in the sport but want to earn a bit of extra cash?

Have you ever considered becoming a Rugby League Match Official?

Completing a Match Officials course costs just £25 for adults or £12.50 for under 18s with the courses taking place regularly across the country.

The full 13-a-side Match Officials course gives all participants a full understanding of the International Laws of the Game.

The course is run over one day or two sessions and involves a theory and practical element.

On completion of the course and the exam participants are then able to officiate on games in their local area and are also provided with mentoring to help them progress.

Being a qualified Match Official provides you with some great opportunities to stay involved in Rugby League and stay fit while earning money at the same time.

There are opportunities for Match Officials at all levels of the sport and everyone is catered for so if you only want to referee on Sunday morning or Wednesday afternoon, that’s fine.

Alternatively if you want to progress to officiating at the highest level of the sport there are also pathways in place to help you advance.
