Competition Framework

Over two years ago a Rugby League working group was formed to review the games competition structure for young people.

This review took a whole game approach taking in to consideration what is presently happening in Rugby League and research that is occurring in other sports, national programmes and scientific fields.

It was further advanced by fulfilling the criteria of the Rugby League LTAD model which begins to address the development of FUNdamental skills and the over playing of young players.

This approach puts the athlete at the centre and concentrates on all participants being able to reach their personal potential.

The National Framework reflects the principle of LTAD but must be shaped to the benefit of the player and the development of Rugby League.
