Welcome to the RFL Education section of our website. The information is designed to help Teachers, coaches and clubs to help develop schools rugby league at all age groups.

Rugby league is a fun, evasive, safe game which can be played by all abilities, mixed or single genders. It is the ideal sport to for young people to start developing fundamental skills of sports as well as participating in a team game.

Rugby League looks to tackle the wider school agenda of keeping Young People fit and promoting positive attitudes towards active and healthy lifestyles. Using rugby as a catalyst can raise schools education achievement by:

  • Just participating – Increase well-being
  • Improving Subject Attainment – Curriculum competition
  • Improve whole school priorities – Positive behaviours , motivation and attendance
  • Improve School Ethos – RFLs Respect code of conduct

Rugby League is inclusive and allows cohesion from a young age, It allows pupils to work with and to respect others.

The versatility of Rugby League is such it can be played anywhere, all you need is a ball and it can be played in school halls, outside playgrounds and parks. The modified version of the game allows pupils to pick up the necessary skills required for them game and progress into the sport comfortably.
 
Our highly qualified coaches can offer skilled based sessions culminating in a competition to schools during curriculum or extra-curriculum times. We also offer coaching to schools that have never had experience the sport and provide beginner sessions to pupils starting from Primary school onwards.
