The Aim Of The Game
Tag Rugby is suitable for anyone, regardless of age, gender or skill level. It is a non contact game, with any unnecessary contact been penalized from the outset. Tag Rugby league is a great variation of the game of Rugby League as it lends its self to both a purely social game as well as a more competitive.
The Rules
A team must all wear identical tags that conform to minimum standards. Each player must wear 2 tags that hang freely from the belt (not wrapped around) and must not be obscured by the playing shirt. The tags should be of a contrasting colour to the shirt and shorts.
The game should be aimed to be played with 7 players per side, but may be increased or reduced by prior agreement between the teams. Interchanges can only take place when a team in possession of the football.
A standard game will take place over half a full sized rugby pitch, playing 2 x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute interval.
Individuals or teams wanting to take part, or for any other information on Tag Rugby should contact the lead ‘League For All Officer’ Tom Allen.
